What non-surgical means
Whitening, cosmetic bonding, gum contouring with a laser, clear aligners and minimal-preparation veneers all change a smile substantially without cutting bone or removing significant tooth structure. Combined in the right order, they cover most of what patients ask for.
When surgery genuinely helps
Missing bone before implants, jaws that are out of proportion, and impacted teeth that block a plan. These are decided from 3D imaging, not from a wish list, and they are the exception.
The rule in the clinic
Start with the least invasive option that reaches the goal, test the goal in a trial smile first, and reserve surgery for the problems only surgery can solve.
