Your Dream Smile, Crafted with Precision: How Dr. Ali Majki Uses CAD/CAM for Cosmetic Dentistry

CAD/CAM, computer-aided design and manufacturing, is why a crown can now be made in a morning and fit better than one made by hand over a week. How it is used in the clinic.

At Dr. Ali Majki’s clinic, we understand the transformative power of a beautiful smile. That’s why we embrace cutting-edge technology like CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) to deliver exceptional cosmetic dentistry results.

Dr. Ali Majki’s Passion for Advanced Technology

“As a cosmetic dentist, I am constantly seeking ways to elevate the patient experience,” says Dr. Ali Majki. “CAD/CAM technology allows me to combine artistic vision with precise engineering, resulting in restorations that are both aesthetically pleasing and incredibly durable.”

How CAD/CAM Works its Magic

The CAD/CAM process starts with a digital scan of your teeth, eliminating the need for messy traditional impressions. This scan creates a highly accurate 3D model, which Dr. Majki can later use it to meticulously design his patient’s crown or bridge on a computer.

Benefits of CAD/CAM in Cosmetic Dentistry

  • Precision and Accuracy: Digital design ensures a perfect fit for your crown or bridge, minimising the need for adjustments and enhancing long-term comfort.
  • Natural Aesthetics: With advanced software, Dr. Majki can customise the restoration’s colour, shape and texture to seamlessly blend with your surrounding teeth.
  • Faster Treatment Time: Gone are the days of waiting weeks for restorations. CAD/CAM allows for on-site milling or rapid production by a dental lab, often resulting in same-day or next-day crown placement.
  • Enhanced Patient Comfort: Digital scanning eliminates the discomfort associated with traditional impressions, making the experience more pleasant for you.

Crafting Hollywood Smiles with Modern Technology

Dr. Majki’s expertise and artistic vision are perfectly complemented by CAD/CAM technology. He leverages this powerful tool to create dazzling, natural-looking crowns and bridges that have transformed the smiles of many high-profile patients.

The scan replaces the impression

An intra-oral scanner records the teeth in seconds with no trays or setting material. The digital model is more accurate than an impression and can be emailed to the laboratory or used in the clinic immediately.

Design on screen

The restoration is designed in software against the neighbouring teeth and the opposing bite. Contacts, contours and thickness are checked numerically before anything is made.

Milled, not moulded

The design is milled from a solid block of ceramic, zirconia or lithium disilicate, to a precision of fractions of a millimetre. For single crowns and inlays this can be completed in the same visit.

Why precision matters to the patient

A close margin keeps bacteria out, a correct contact keeps food from packing, and an accurate bite prevents fractures and jaw strain. Precision is not a luxury feature; it is what makes the restoration last.

What CAD/CAM changes for the patient

A digital scan replaces impression trays, the restoration is designed on screen with the bite and the neighbouring teeth in view, and it is milled from a ceramic block to the design. For a single crown or an inlay this often means one visit instead of two and no temporary at all.

Precision is the larger benefit. Margins milled to the scan close better than hand-finished ones, and a closed margin is what keeps bacteria out and the tooth beneath healthy for years. The machine supplies the accuracy; the consultant supplies the judgement about shape, shade and how much tooth to preserve.

Where the ceramist still matters

Front teeth need translucency and character that a monolithic block cannot give. For veneers and anterior crowns the milled core is layered by hand from photographs taken in daylight and the approved design. CAD/CAM and craftsmanship are not alternatives in the clinic; they are stages of the same restoration.
